Philip graduated with Master of Architecture from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and he is the founding principal of Elsedesign.

The practice won several design awards: 2012, 2016 and 2018 Merit Prize for the Spatial Design at Hong Kong Global Design Award, 2013 Finalist of Young Architects Award of China Media Architecture, 2016 <Perspective> magazine 40 under 40 Architects Award, 2017 Best Public & Culture Architecture Ideatops International Design Award, 2017 Best Design Hotel Guangzhou International Design Week, 2018 Taipei Design Award and China Design Power 100 Award, 2019 Shenzhen Global Design Award Silver Prize ,The 2019 6th Hong Kong Youth DreamMakers Award and 2nd Prize of 2020 Central Glass International Architectural Design Competition etc.

Philip previously taught as guest professor at Nanjing University, Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and was Associate Professor of Cheung Kong School of Art and Design, Shantou University from 2008-2011, Adjunct Assistant Professor at School of Architecture, The Chinese University of Hong Kong from 2010-2016 and Visiting Fellow of National University of Singapore at 2020. Currently he is Assistant Professor at Department of Architecture, Tunghai University.
