To celebrate the 65th anniversary of HKIA, the exhibition is conceptualised as a human scale ‘flipbook’ archiving the past-present-future along a linear rediscovery time journey of Hong Kong architects and architecture.

Layers of translucent light-weight display drapes are aligned according to the timeline of events and occasions. Punctuated with a door portal corridor through layers and layers, one travels seamlessly from one end to the other, while sideways is also available for one to enter at any ‘time’.

Drapes are printed directly with key visuals, pictures, drawings and text, as well as multiple overlays at times for layered projection to accommodate media display. Extending from the flipbook is a pair of LED curtain screens installed at the central bridge displaying abstract key visual artworks or videos to attract people from the atrium, and to form a photogenic ‘time corridor’ for one to take photos inside.

Minimising the waste generated from the 2-week exhibition, the majority of construction materials will be re-distributed to various parties or re-purposed into different uses, like tote bags and pencil wraps, and continue their second lives.
